Jenny Zhu’s China is a visual commentary on the fascinating facets of Chinese culture and society. Each episode fatures a selection of videos showcasing an interesting aspect of China, everything from news to user generated content. Thanks to Aric Queen for helping me shoot and being the observing friend on the pilot. Like the lighting, there is a lot of room for improvement. I deeply appreciate your thoughts and suggestions!
In this episode:
1. Dancing in the park
2. Potato chips—the family glue
3. Journey to West: a Chinese animation from the 1950’s
Enjoy!
Hi, I am Jenny Zhu from ChinesePod.com. I bring you a slice of the Chinese language and culture in the daily podcast. But there is so much more than what a podcast has time for, so jennyzhu.com is a space of observation and reflection on the big, small and everything in between about China.

Pure genius jenny.
Good job!
And I actually like the lighting, gives the whole video some art deco ambiance. (I don’t know if there’s such a thing, but I found it art deco-y, hehe)

This brings me back to the Saturday Show days! I’m so glad to see Aric back, too! Continue this, I fully support it!

Jenny,
Is this the new version of the Saturday Show? It’s good to see Aric and hear him again.
I think I may have seen that 西游记 cartoon movie when I was a child in the Philippines. My Dad took me to see it. If my memory recall is really bad, then I probably read a comic book version of the movie.
What is it about people in general that they can be emotionally manipulated by TV commercials to buy things?
It’s a good thing I don’t own a TV anymore.

Mickey, Cris and Art,
Thank you for your support! Deeply appreciated.
In future episodes, I want to try something more current or with a specific theme. Let’s see how that goes.

Jenny,
I am waiting for your video blog to become so big so that you can take your vodcast on the road, like San Francisco/Silicon Valley!

I look forward to the lesson on 旧金山. I haven’t had that many chances to explore the city after being here for over a year.

Thanks, I’m glad you like my blog and that you remember me
Wasn’t sure if I should bring that up or not, didn’t want to seem like I’m internet stalking you or anything like that. Hope I didn’t act too much like a star-struck fan, it was just a really amazing coincidence to run into you like that.
